Debi Strong
Most of my work is based on a vision of a better world, one where people treat each other with kindness and respect. I try to encourage individuals to recognize their intrinsic value as human beings (as opposed to human doings).  I hope to foster love and compassion for all sentient beings, and a respect for the incredibly beautiful planet we live on.  Most of all, I'd like to think that the words and images I use help others to discover more hope, gratitude, and peace in their lives.
Much of my mixed media work includes recycled or repurposed materials, and I like to use vibrant colors.  I use color to express the variety of passions inherent in our lives, whether we are struggling, recovering, or exuberantly healthy.  The different materials I work with, from ink, acrylics, and markers, to fibers, wood, and beads, reflect the diversity of life and my never-ending quest for new knowledge, techniques, and ways to communicate my values through art.
