Kim Waldman
Serendipity has a way of presenting itself when a person is least expecting. In my mid twenties I bought an old toolbox full of oil paints at a garage sale.
I began painting portraits of friends in hats and became interested in self-portraits. A few years later I fell in love with gouache, an opaque watercolor,
and soon combined gouache with ink. To my great joy birds flew into my life and into my art. My artwork then became colorful and whimsical circus performers,
musicians, dancers and anthropomorphic birds often revealing my love of metaphor: the path as one's journey, trees as rooting one to a sense of place
and birds being messengers from above. Currently, my work has opened into painting birds in their natural environment.

Through my artwork and business I hope to relay my love of the natural world. My high-quality giclée prints, greeting cards and tote bags are printed
by local businesses in the Flathead Valley. The giclée prints are produced on archival fine art paper (365 LB) with archival inks.
